    Another reason why...

I'm not worried about 2012 elections...

(CNN) ? Americans overwhelmingly say talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh is currently the most influential conservative, according to a new poll.

In the new survey conducted by CBS' "60 Minutes" and Vanity Fair magazine, 26 percent of those sampled identified Limbaugh as the leading conservative, followed by fellow media personality Glenn Beck at 11 percent.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin followed close behind with 10 percent each.

The only Republican who currently holds office to make the list is House Minority Leader John Boehner, who registered 4 percent in the poll.

The poll of 855 Americans was conducted November 6-8 and carries a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

    Re: Another reason why...

Is this supposed to mean that no current republican can take the white house because they're not named on a "most influential" list. Go back to 2005, 3 years before the 2008 elections, and see how many people put Obama on a most influential democrat list. I would imagine that list would be topped by the Clintons, with no mention of Obama at all.

Sure, a Clinton was probably at the top of that list or someone like that, but was an Olbermann? You're two top influential people, are insane/conspiracy theory nuts, then two FORMER politicians..the great Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin, do you think this looks good? It's not who's the best choice, it's whoever the GOP picks, which the people showed last election that they'll pick who they're more familiar with as opposed to anyone who is actually going to win/do good in the White House. There's not a leader that can be seen within miles of that party, wouldn't be holding your breath for an Obama-esque type to come along.
